Pilates is a series of exercises aimed to strengthen the core muscles of the spine, pelvis and shoulder girdle. Pilates exercises also promote awareness of breathing, body position, spinal alignment, flexibility and co-ordination of movement.
Here at First Physio individuals wishing to part-take in our Pilates Classes must undergo a Pilates assessment. This involves a 30 minute assessment with one of our Chartered Physiotherapists. Your Physiotherapist will speak with you to determine your aspirations for starting Pilates and will also carry out a physical assessment to identify any areas of weakness or imbalance in your body that can be focused on throughout the class.
Pilates Classes are run over a course of 7 weeks and cost €140. Included in this price is a mid-way and end-of-course re-assessment, which allows you to revisit your Physiotherapist half way through, and at the end of your Pilates Course. This is to ensure that both you and your Physiotherapist are happy with your progress and that you continue with a focused approach to your Pilates. Pilates classes are carried out by our Chartered Physiotherapists who are specially trained in Pilates Instruction. Courses are run in both mornings and evenings.
Places are limited to 6 participants per class to ensure the best possible guidance and instruction. Due to the success and high demand for our classes we recommend that you enquire at reception to book your assessment early.
